    The Client

    Datacenter People is working with the leading data center commissioning and quality services firm in the world.

    What the Job Involves

    • Provide engineering and technical support to plan, schedule, coordinate and execute full life cycle commissioning of critical facilities.
    • Participate in the MEP design process.
    • Witnesses the static and dynamic testing of complex electrical systems. 
    • Perform Test Procedures.
    • Prepare meeting minutes.
    • Interact with contractors, interpreting design and specifications. 
    • Conduct site observation surveys and prepares field reports on the status of projects and completion of projects with respect to compliance to the plans and specifications.
    • Prepare punch list reports and determines corrective measures for on-site problems.
    • Prepare general condition survey reports.
    • Familiarise oneself with codes, local project regulations, construction practices and the latest equipment functional concepts.
    • Obey all the projects safety requirements including specific on-site regulations.
    • Performs routine calculations.
    • Act as project coordinator with other field engineers, coordinating printing, presentation and administration procedures.
    • Review shop drawings and submittals.

    We're Looking for Someone Who

    • Experience commissioning UPS systems in a data center or large commercial/industrial setting – typically 500kVA or above. OR a number of years’ experience in a senior commissioning role with the ability to interpret the same, in lieu of this a technical background in power conversion technologies such as HVDC with a thorough understanding of power conversion.
    • Ability to determine and interpret data from various sources such as external PQM waveforms, data logs etc.
    • Ability to determine pass/fail criteria on UPS testing (ITIC), generators and switchgear.
    • Switchgear and generator commissioning experience.
    • Conversant in data center topologies across varied designs: N+1, N+2, 2N etc.
    • Fault finding/trouble-shooting knowledge of various integrated systems such as UPS/generator/switchgear integration and associated control.
    • Ability to interpret overall design intent of integrated systems and advise on various operational aspects to ensure the system will perform correctly. This will be determined through both through design reviews and on-site knowledge.
    • Working knowledge of network and communications – Modbus/ethernet, SCADA systems etc.
    • Understanding of data center commissioning levels and the requirements to move from level-to-level.
    • Working knowledge of substations and power systems/quality and their associated protection systems such as overcurrent and unit protection and a thorough understanding of harmonics etc.
    • Knowledge of scheduling/planning/reporting.

      • Be organised; possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
      • Experience with MS word and excel is a must. 
      • Must have the ability to work in a high stress environment, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. 
      • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with and guide others. 
      • Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards. 
      • Working knowledge of AutoCAD. 
      • Must have or be able to obtain a passport 
      • Must have demonstrated proficiency for all the responsibilities of a Commissioning Engineer. 
      • Five (5) years of experience in the commissioning field including performance contracting requirements. 
      • Must be proficient in BCA, PECI and/or ASHRAE commissioning procedures.  
      • Hospital, biotech, data center, and energy analysis experience is preferred.

      What The Job Involves 

      • Lead, drive, and distribute work within the project.
      • Monitor Company’s interests as a supplier and handle risks and opportunities, anticipating future consequences responsibly and accurately. 
      • Lead and take overall responsibility including the project’s financials, governance, and oversight. 
      • Build the project organizstion and implement QA/QC and health & safety management systems.

      We’re Looking for Someone With

      • Possesses a post-secondary education, preferably in engineering.
      • Has prior experience in a leadership role managing large, complex, fast track projects (over 50 million EUR).
      • Has thorough experience from installations and technical systems in data centers, and the cooperation model between suppliers and international clients.
      • Understands business models and contracts which are standard in
      • international data center projects.
      • Has led large organisations with multiple levels, including direct staff and subcontractors.
      • Is fluent in English, both spoken and written; Swedish or Norwegian is an advantage.

      What The Job Involves 

      • Lead the design and development of conceptual and detailed mechanical systems for new and existing data centers. 
      • Analyse cooling and air handling requirements to optimise efficiency, reliability, and energy consumption. 
      • Select and specify mechanical equipment based on industry best practices, project requirements, and sustainability considerations. 
      • Ensure mechanical system design seamlessly integrates with other systems (electrical, IT, etc.) through close collaboration with relevant teams. Oversee the commissioning process for new and upgraded mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.

      • Experience on Mechanical Systems and discipline (HVAC, CFDs, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC / CRAH Units, Air Handling Units, etc.). 
      • Strong understanding of data center thermal management, power distribution, and fire suppression systems. 
      • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
