    The Client


    Datacenter People is working with the leading data center commissioning and quality services firm in the world.


    The Role

    • Responsible for taking a direct leadership role in accomplishing the mission and expands the business unit through successful project management.
    • Responsible for all aspects of project management through all phases of Commissioning levels 1-5. Manages the Client, project team, finances, & business growth goals for the company by performing the following duties.
    • Acts as Competent Person managing safety on the projects under their control.
    • Ensures that Cx Team members have completed any project specific safety training required and that proper Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) have been performed for the work that will be conducted on the project. 
    • Ensures that toolbox training has been conducted & recorded on a weekly basis.
    • Utilises the company’s accounting, project management, and resource planning systems to accurately forecast project resource requirements and billing projections, as well as expenses on assigned projects.
    • Updates project information as it is made available and proactively works to resolve resource conflicts as conflicts are generated.
    • Determines how money will be spent to accomplish the Scope of Work (SOW) & properly accounts for these expenditures. Identifies any variances that develop to SOW & advises Client in a timely manner of any potential change order as a result of these variances.
    • Manages all financial aspects of the project to include project opening, accounts payable, accounts receivable, revenue projections, and project closeout.
    • Manages multiple members of the Cx Team which can include project managers, client representatives, vendors, contractors, end users, and in some cases the entire team in a design-build scenario.


    The Experience Profile

    • Knowledge of engineering principles.
    • Strong knowledge of your principle (mechanical or electrical).
    • Knowledge of electrical or mechanical system from operations point of view.
    • Electrical Discipline should be comfortable working around live components, three phase AC Power Systems and Direct Current (DC) power systems. 
    • Mechanical Discipline should be comfortable working with chilled water distribution and commercial HVAC systems.
    • Ability to interact/work professionally with client.
    • Conducts site observation surveys and prepares field reports on the status of projects and completion of projects with respect to compliance to the plans and specifications.
    • Familiarises oneself with codes, local project regulations, construction practices and the latest equipment functional concepts.
    • Participates in professional trade associations and societies.
    • Reviews shop drawings and submittals.
    • Provide RFI's to commissioning team.

      Datacenter People is working with the largest building commissioning and operational risk management providers in the world.

      What the Job Involves

      • Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its core values.
      • Performs quality inspections in accordance with program quality control documentation. Participate and guide project quality control from kick-off until hand-off.
      • Provides oversight of the implementation of the QA/QC management system at site.
      • Coordinates the quality inspections with the site sub-contractors and vendors.
      • Coordinates with the customers representative on all quality matters.
      • Provides oversight in the distribution of relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors while reviewing that completed documentation is stored appropriately upon completion.
      • Verifies that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the design documents and program standards.
      • Participates in the internal and external site audits.
      • Coordinates all the quality site inspections through the Contractor QC team.
      • Ensures all quality control documentation is compiled and competed for as-built hand over through the Contractor QC team.
      • Provide review and reporting of all non-conformance reports and undertake remedial action. Monitors the implementation of the approved site QC Plan.
      • Completes and coordinates the approval of the sites QC technical submittals to the customer.
      • Coordinates with the Client and Contractor QA/QC team on all quality issues.
      • Coordinate and chair the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the Contractor QC personnel.
      • Assures all technical documents relative to site quality control are of current status.

      We’re Looking for Someone Who

      • Has 10 years' data center commissioning/QA experience.
      • Has a Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
      • Has Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Quality Auditor, and/or Quality Engineer a plus.
      • Is experienced with ISO 9001 certification process.
      • Has a history and experience driving improved Quality at scale.
      • Is able to work seamlessly across functional and department lines.
      • Has experience with standard data center equipment to include: electrical distribution equipment from switchgear to panelboards, VFDs, low voltage power and moulded case circuit breakers, overhead IT busway, Diesel Generators, DX units, air handlers, water treatment equipment, BMS modules, and hot aisle containment accessories.
      • Is able to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
