    The Client

    Datacenter People is partnering with an international company that is involved in the design, manufacture, market, install and service of high-performance power products and solutions that connect and protect mission-critical equipment, buildings and essential processes.

    What The Job Involves

    • Develop deep technical knowledge and understanding of power products for the Edge segments and end-user applications/use-cases.
    • Define technical requirements that are traceable and verifiable for products and projects working closely with all design engineering disciplines, including external development partners and seed end-customers.
    • Support engineering development process including design, gate, and customer reviews. 
    • Ensure design solution alignment to customer definitions and needs.
    • Support and develop system requirements, integration and verification.
    • Create and maintain systems models.

    We're Looking For Someone With

    • Bachelor’s Degree or above in Systems, Software, or Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
    • Ideally 10+ years working experience, with 5+ years direct experience with power electronics and architecture.
    • Direct experience in power distribution and/or power conversion, preferred.
    • Demonstrated use of SysML.
    • Proven application of systems development lifecycle.
    • 5+ years’ experience working with data center power or rack related products 
    • Knowledgeable in computer networking architectures, topologies and hardware.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Experience with compiling technical requirements, VCRMs, and maintaining traceability from concept through production.
    • Creative problem-solving and diagnostic/troubleshooting abilities.
    • Fluent in project management, including Microsoft Project, and MS Office applications.

      • Experience working with various Microsoft Office applications and other database housing software  
      • Ability to handle a multitude of tasks and work well in stressful situations.  
      • Strong understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment. These include, but are not limited to UPS, Transformers, PDU’s, RPP’s, Chillers, CRAH, CRAC, STS, ATS, and Pre-action systems  
      • Strong knowledge of NFPA70e, NFPA72, NFPA25, and compliance issues as well as building codes in regard to fire life safety.  
      • Familiarity and experience in data center trending and analysis, with the ability to rapidly learn and use PC-based site monitoring systems.  
      • United States Navy Nuclear Engineering – preferred   
      • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience – preferred  
      • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, reach or feel objects, climb stairs, balance, stoop or kneel, talk, see at close range, and hear for extended periods of time

      • Critical Operations Technician III will be a subject matter expert on understanding the mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, and security systems used in a data center environment including, but not limited to the following: electrical distribution and layout, transformers, PLC’s, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, STS’, ATS (Automatic Transfer Switch)’ PDU’s, chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH’s, pre-action sprinkler systems, CMMS, BMS, and factors impacting PUE.  
      • Expert level knowledge of NFPA70e, NFPA72, NFPA25 and compliance issues as well as building codes regarding fire life safety.  
      • Familiarity and experience in data center trending and analysis, with the ability to rapidly learn and use PC based site monitoring systems.   
      • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and internal staff.   
      • Ability to coordinate, supervise, and communicate with contractors who perform maintenance in the data center.   
      • Ability to provide training to increase the knowledge of the team.
