    The Position

    Provides full time onsite 3rd Party Quality Control oversight reporting directly to the client while interacting with the Construction Team on a daily basis. 

     

    Responsibilities

    • Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its Core Values.
    • Performs quality inspections in accordance with program quality control documentation.
    • Participate and guide project quality control from kick-off until hand-off.
    • Provides oversight of the implementation of the QA/QC management system at site.
    • Coordinates the quality inspections with the site sub-contractors and vendors.
    • Coordinates with the customers representative on all quality matters.
    • Provides oversight in the distribution of relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors while reviewing that completed documentation is stored appropriately upon completion.
    • Verifies that the quality related site activities are in accordance with the design documents and program standards.
    • Participates in the internal and external site audits.
    • Coordinates all the quality site inspections through the Contractor QC team.
    • Ensures all quality control documentation is compiled and competed for as-built hand over through the Contractor QC team.
    • Provide review and reporting of all non-conformance reports and undertake remedial action.
    • Monitors the implementation of the approved site QC Plan.
    • Completes and coordinates the approval of the sites QC technical submittals to the customer.
    • Coordinates with the Client and Contractor QA/QC team on all quality issues.
    •  Coordinate and chair the QA/QC site weekly meetings with the Contractor QC personnel.
    • Assures all technical documents relative to site quality control are of current status.  

     

    Minimum Qualifications

       

    • Datacenter or mission-critical experience. 
    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline preferred (electrical or mechanical)
    • Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, Quality Auditor, and/or Quality Engineer a plus Experience with ISO 9001 certification process.
    • History and experience driving improved Quality at scale
    • Ability to work seamlessly across functional and department lines
    • Experience with standard Datacenter equipment to include: electrical distribution equipment from switchgear to panelboards, VFDs, low voltage power and molded case circuit breakers, overhead IT busway, Diesel Generators, DX units, air handlers, water treatment equipment, BMS modules, and hot aisle containment accessories.
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

      What the Job Involves

      • Implement and follow the standardised culture of always working safely across all STACK data centers.  
      • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems. Areas include Electrical, Mechanical, Building Monitoring, and Control.  
      • Tracking and trending operational characteristics.  
      • Provide feedback to management on the effectiveness of existing standards and processes  
      • Work with the Critical Operations Manager to complete an aggressive preventive and predictive maintenance schedule  
      • Assist with the database management of maintenance discrepancies and work with site management to resolve site issues based on agreed-upon priorities.  
      • Ensure data center operates at maximum operational efficiency, including analyzing existing operating conditions, recommending new technologies, and improving overall efficiency.  
      • Manage systems to avoid unplanned, customer-impacting outages  
      • Follow direction from data center management regarding the data floor and back of house mechanical loading capacity thereby ensuring that the cooling system is operating at its highest efficiency  
      • Coordinate and oversee power installations and upgrades  
      • Navigate and utilize a CMMS system.  
      • Use developed procedures to solve problems  
      • Assist in asset and consumable inventory management.  
      • Responsible for the tracking and proper labelling of all equipment per established procedures.  
      • Provide day-to-day exceptional customer service and support.  
      • Incident escalation, response, and follow-up report writing.
      • Maintain and complete regular facility and security tours documenting and responding to found issues.  
      • Provide applied mechanical and integrated control expertise for the entire data center

      We’re Looking for Someone With

      • High school diploma or equivalent.
      • Minimum of 1-3 years experience in a data center or other related mission-critical operations role.  
      • Experience working with various Microsoft Office applications and other database housing software.
      • Ability to handle a multitude of tasks and work well in stressful situations.  
      • Strong understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment. These include, but are not limited to UPS, Transformers, PDU’s, RPP’s, Chillers, CRAH, CRAC, STS, ATS, and Pre-action systems.
      • Strong knowledge of NFPA70e, NFPA72, NFPA25, and compliance issues as well as building codes in regard to fire life safety.  
      • Familiarity and experience in data center trending and analysis, with the ability to rapidly learn and use PC-based site monitoring systems.  
      • United States Navy Nuclear Engineering – preferred.   
      • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience – preferred.

      • Knowledge of data center (hyper scale, enterprise, and colocation), and telecommunications industries.
      • Experience working with various Microsoft office applications and other database housing software.
      • 3-5 years' experience in administering and managing facility preventative maintenance programs.
      • 3-5 years' experience in vendor and project management.
      • Ability to handle a multitude of tasks and work well in stressful situations.
      • Expert understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment.
