    The Client

    Datacenter People has been instructed by a global player and the leading European cloud provider operating over 450,000 servers within 34 data centers across 4 continents to reach 1,6 million customers in over 140 countries.

    What The Job Involves

    • Manage all of the design and implementation of the infrastructure projects (data centers and network) necessary for the group’s growth.
    • Structure and develop the skills centre to support the growth of a global business.
    • To sustain and reinforce the innovation and agility capacities of the business model.
    • Be responsible for the delivery of datacenter and network infrastructures for all projects (quality, cost, time). 
    • Be responsible for infrastructure availability (quantity/date made available...) for DC extension projects. 
    • Manage your perimeter’s budget and P&L.
    • Manage and support a team of around thirty people, including 4 managers with direct reporting.

    We're Looking For Someone With

    • Training as an engineer or architect in construction and/or building. 
    • Minimum of 15 years experience in the construction/design/engineering sector. 
    • Entrepreneurial spirit, initiative and innovation orientation. 
    • Command of English and French. 
    • Ideally international experience(s) in Asia and/or North America.

      What The Job Involves 

      • Lead, drive, and distribute work within the project.
      • Monitor Company’s interests as a supplier and handle risks and opportunities, anticipating future consequences responsibly and accurately. 
      • Lead and take overall responsibility including the project’s financials, governance, and oversight. 
      • Build the project organizstion and implement QA/QC and health & safety management systems.

      We’re Looking for Someone With

      • Possesses a post-secondary education, preferably in engineering.
      • Has prior experience in a leadership role managing large, complex, fast track projects (over 50 million EUR).
      • Has thorough experience from installations and technical systems in data centers, and the cooperation model between suppliers and international clients.
      • Understands business models and contracts which are standard in
      • international data center projects.
      • Has led large organisations with multiple levels, including direct staff and subcontractors.
      • Is fluent in English, both spoken and written; Swedish or Norwegian is an advantage.

      What The Job Involves 

      • Lead the design and development of conceptual and detailed mechanical systems for new and existing data centers. 
      • Analyse cooling and air handling requirements to optimise efficiency, reliability, and energy consumption. 
      • Select and specify mechanical equipment based on industry best practices, project requirements, and sustainability considerations. 
      • Ensure mechanical system design seamlessly integrates with other systems (electrical, IT, etc.) through close collaboration with relevant teams. Oversee the commissioning process for new and upgraded mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets. 
      • Develop and execute comprehensive commissioning plans in accordance with industry standards and best practices. 
      • Identify and resolve mechanical commissioning issues efficiently to maintain project progress. 
      • Collaborate with contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth construction and installation of mechanical components. 
      • Stay at the forefront of the latest trends and technologies in data center mechanical design and operation. 
      • Serve as the company’s internal expert on all mechanical aspects of data centers. 
      • Provide technical guidance and support to internal stakeholders across various departments. 
      • Represent the company in external project meetings, discussions, and negotiations with vendors and consultants. 
      • Communicate clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring transparency and understanding. 
      • Manage and maintain technical documentation related to data center mechanical systems. 
      • Identify opportunities for improvement in data center mechanical systems and processes. 
      • Lead the implementation of new technologies and best practices to enhance reliability, efficiency, and sustainability.

      We’re Looking for Someone With

      • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience. 
      • Minimum of 7+ years' of experience in data center design and construction or equivalent experience in critical infrastructure. 
      • Proven track record of success in leading and executing complex mechanical engineering projects. 
      • English: fluent 
      • Experience on Mechanical Systems and discipline (HVAC, CFDs, Boilers, Chillers, Pumps, CRAC / CRAH Units, Air Handling Units, etc.). 
      • Strong understanding of data center thermal management, power distribution, and fire suppression systems. 
      • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. 
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
      • Proactive: Takes initiative and ownership of tasks without needing constant direction. 
      • Accountable: Admits mistakes, learns from them, and delivers on commitments. 
      • Agile: Learns quickly and applies new knowledge in practical situations.
