  Datacenter People is working with a global data center services provider delivering project management, engineering design and critical facility management to hyperscale, colocation, and edge leaders.

  What The Job Involves 

  • Operate, monitor, maintain, and respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems. 
  • Complete planned and ad-hoc preventive maintenance work assignments requiring the skill and direction of several engineering, mechanical, and maintenance trades. 
  • Conduct periodic inspections of building systems, i.e., HVAC, electrical distribution, maintain mechanical equipment rooms to ensure clean and safe conditions. 
  • Rapid response, investigation, and management of indoor emergency situations and air quality complaints. 
  • Have a complete working knowledge of creating, closing, and tracking 'work requests' (WR). Initiate or respond to work orders, follow-up and verify completion of work. 
  • Use of customer ticketing systems and relevant processes e.g., change requests. 
  • Monitor performance/note deficiencies of service contractors and recommend changes as necessary. 
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. 
  • Work within a on call rotation during outside normal business hours and be able to respond to incidents while on call. 
  • Draft and review operational documents such as SOPs, MOPs, EOPs.

  We’re Looking for Someone With

  • Proven experience in the operation, installation, and maintenance of data center critical equipment, building systems with in-depth technical understanding and knowledge of all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systems. 
  • Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including: Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units, CRAC units and building management systems (BMS). 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Dutch and English. 
  • Electrical or mechanical qualification. 
  • Ability to write and review operational documents such as SOPs, MOPs, EOPs.

  We’re Looking for Someone With

  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in the operation, installation, and maintenance of critical equipment, building systems with in-depth technical understanding and knowledge of all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systems. 
  • In possession of a valid Electrical Certification - Valid for Poland (SEP). 
  • High school diploma or College Degree. 
  • Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units and CRAC units. 
  • Good observation skills and problem-solving ability. 
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in Polish and English.

  What The Job Involves 

  • Oversee the daily operations of multiple data centers across a region, ensuring that facilities meet all internal and external standards for uptime, efficiency, and security. 
  • Manage Data Center Managers, providing guidance and support to ensure alignment with company objectives and consistent service delivery across all sites. 
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all facilities to optimize operations, drive consistency, and ensure best practices. 
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as uptime, Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), cooling efficiency, and operational costs, ensuring continuous improvements across all data centers. 
  • Act as a point of contact for major clients, working closely with them to understand their needs and ensure that service levels are met or exceeded. 
  • Coordinate with Data Center Managers to proactively address client concerns, manage escalations, and ensure high levels of client satisfaction. 
  • Support client onboarding and project delivery, including capacity planning, migrations, and new deployments, ensuring alignment between client expectations and operational execution. 
  • Regularly review SLAs and operational performance with clients, providing reports and updates on operational metrics to maintain strong relationships and trust. 
  • Lead or support regular client review meetings and ensure that customer-facing teams are aligned on operational performance and any upcoming changes. 
  • Manage a team of Data Center Managers, providing leadership, mentorship, and support to help them excel in their roles and meet operational goals. 
  • Set clear expectations and performance goals for Data Center Managers, monitor performance, and ensure their teams are empowered and motivated to deliver exceptional service. 
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across all facilities, ensuring that knowledge and best practices are shared among teams. 
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, identify training opportunities, and promote career development to ensure the long-term success of the team. 
  • Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on energy efficiency, cost reduction, and optimization of resources across data centers. 
  • Work with Data Center Managers to implement operational best practices and improve facility performance by leveraging emerging technologies and innovations in data center management. 
  • Review operational processes across facilities, identifying opportunities for standardisation, automation, and cost-effective solutions. 
  • Ensure the consistency of operational standards across all data centers while accounting for regional or local differences. 
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements (ISO, SOC, PCI-DSS, GDPR) and company standards, particularly in areas of security, health & safety, and environmental regulations. 
  • Collaborate with Data Center Managers to ensure the implementation of robust security protocols, both physical and virtual, to protect client data and facility infrastructure. 
  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for all sites, ensuring that Data Center Managers are prepared for emergency scenarios. 
  • Lead or support audit processes, ensuring that all facilities are regularly assessed for compliance and performance against internal and external standards. 
  • Oversee relationships with key vendors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure that contracts are adhered to and performance metrics are met. 
  • Negotiate and manage outsourced contracts (e.g., maintenance, security services, energy providers) to ensure cost-effective solutions and high-quality service delivery. 
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, Facilities, Finance) to ensure operational alignment with broader business objectives and strategic initiatives. 
  • Prepare and manage the operational budget for all data centers within the region, ensuring that costs are controlled while maintaining service quality. 
  • Collaborate with finance teams to forecast future expenditures related to capital improvements, equipment upgrades, and operational needs. 
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, including energy efficiency improvements, procurement strategies, and vendor negotiations.
