    The Client

    Datacenter People is working with a global manufacturer of power, precision cooling and infrastructure management systems for data centers.

    What The Job Involves

    Provide technical support Sales for AC Power products and solutions;
    Provide Sales with pre-sales technical support when building proposals, quotes and tenders;
    Develop technically and price competitive applications for AC Power products to fulfill customer requirements where standard products do not fit;
    Manage the relationship between Sales teams and the Line of Business;
    Create product and application presentations for customers and consultants;
    Provide technical trainings to sales teams;
    Work with Product Management and Sales teams to feedback on issues with current products and provide input around new products;
    Constantly monitor the market for trends and competitor activities.
    Review RFQs and identify customer requirements/specifications;
    Provide sales and pre-sales support with technical support of product specifications and applications;
    Standard product selection based on customer requirements;
    Coordinate with factory engineering departments for specific technical requests;
    Find, develop and work with local companies to complete portfolio.
    Special applications - Configure-to-Order (CTO)
    Configure solutions in Configure-One (C1) where standard products do not fit;
    Define feasibility and costs of solutions/products;
    Integration, coordination and support the internal pre-sales and/or external suppliers;
    Prepare relevant technical documents;
    Internal support for project management team and sales;
    Presentation/explanation of solution to sales organization;
    Interact with Engineering and Manufacturing once customer order is received.

    We're Looking For Someone With

    School Background: engineering background or equivalent education with proven field experience;
    Previous working experience: experience in AC Power products and installation, especially for Datacenter or equivalent;
    Solid experience matured in adjacent markets and in similar positions.
    Language skills: fluent English written and verbal required;
    Excellent IT skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and Customer/Sales orientation.
    High focus on customer needs;
    Experience in quoting/proposing/installing/ managing projects;
    Disciplined, self-motivated and proactive;
    Able to combine long term and short-term goals by setting priorities;
    Organizational skills and familiar with a decentralized environment but at the same time able to work in a team;
    Ability to interact with all levels within the organization from entry level to executive;
    Proficient in using C1 and Oracle Sales Cloud;
    Experience with AutoCAD or similar CAD systems;
    Well-informed on standards and contractual regulation issues.

      Datacenter People is working with the leading provider of reliable, sustainable and highly connected edge data centers in Europe, with locations in Germany, France, The Netherlands, Belgium and Denmark.
       
      What the Job Involves

      • To operate the Critical Processes to ensure the mitigation of risk to the operation of critical plant and equipment. 
      • To follow EOPs and escalate accordingly when an incident occur. 
      • To follow and create MOPs and SOPs. 
      • Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists. 
      • Write the statements of work (SOW) to define the scope of service contracts with the vendors/suppliers. 
      • Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. These reactive calls to also include concessionary stores and fabric related items. 
      • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times. 
      • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works.  To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works. 
      • Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator. 
      • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times. 
      • Carry out AP duties (training provided) and the issuing of permits to work 
      • Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment.  To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times.    
      • To develop a good working relationship with all members of staff and clients. 
      • Ensure professional image is presented to clients at all times.
      • Ensure that all security concept and principles are executed at all times. 
      • Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance. 
      • To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns.

      We’re Looking for Someone Who

      • Experience in main distribution board switching of ACB’s.
      • Experience in changing modes of UPS i.e. start-up / Maintenance bypass / Eco-Ess Mode / VMMS Energy management mode.
      • Knowledge of Critical cooling systems and SLA’s / KPI’s within a critical environment.
      • Knowledge of basic Air Conditioning and humidity control.
      • Experience in the operation and control of generators and UPS.
      • Has been responsible for the operation of a datacenter.
      • Experience in use and interrogation of BMS systems in monitoring plant 
      • Practical knowledge of H&S requirements including RA’s, Lock out Tag out, permits to work. 
      • Experienced in vendor management. 
      • Self-motivated and professional manner.
      • Good communication skills (German and English Language).
      • Basic knowledge of MS office applications.
      • Experience with an asset management tool.

      What the Job Involves

      • Develops creative approaches to keep operational costs to a minimum, improve efficiency, and implements new strategies for Mechanical, Electrical, and Fire Life Safety systems. 
      • Tests performance of electromechanical assemblies and electronic volt meters. 
      • Reads blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders to determine methods and sequences of processes. 
      • Inspects equipment for defects, leaks, and potential issues. 
      • Installs electrical/electronic parts and hardware in housings/assemblies with hand tools. 
      • Aligns, fits or assembles component parts using hand/power tools. 
      • Operates, monitors, maintains, and responds to abnormal conditions in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Life Safety, Security Systems, Building Monitoring Systems, and control systems. 
      • Analyse systems to ensure best practice for internal/external customers. 
      • Provides feedback on effectiveness of existing standards and processes. 
      • Works with contractors and consultants to review quality assurance for all system expansions, corrections, and upgrades.

      • Rapid response, investigation, and management of indoor emergency situations and air quality complaints 
      • Have a complete working knowledge of creating, closing, and tracking "work requests" (WR). Initiate or respond to work orders, follow-up and verify completion of work. 
      • Monitor performance/note deficiencies of service contractors and recommend changes as necessary. 
      • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. 
      • Completion of documentation, notification, escalation, tracking and follow up of all incidents and requests. 

      We’re Looking for Someone Who

      • Proven experience in the operation, installation, and maintenance of data center critical equipment, building systems with in-depth technical understanding and knowledge of all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systems. 
      • Knowledge of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data center environment, including Feeders, Transformers, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, ATS/STS units, PDU/PMM units, Chillers, Air handling units, CRAC units and building management systems (BMS).
      • Ability to write and review operational documents such as SOPs, MOPs, EOPs 
      • LV/HV authorized to switch Certificate.
      • Mechanical and/or Electrical training/education, with particular focus in power; 
      • Relevant work experience in a data center or other critical environment. 
      • High school diploma or College Degree. 
      • Good observation skills and problem-solving ability. 
      • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
