    The Client

    Datacenter People is partnering with a leading German data center operator that delivers colocation services across a highly secure network of facilities at central points in Europe.

    What The Job Involves 

    • Safety initiatives: Develop and implement health and safety programs tailored to our Data Center operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations (e.g., Arbeitsschutzgesetz, DGUV) and global best practices. 
    • Collaborate across functions: Partner with Engineering, Operations, Facilities, and external contractors to ensure seamless integration of safety measures into daily activities and during project implementation.  
    • Identify and mitigate risks: Conduct thorough risk assessments and proactively address potential hazards to ensure a safe working environment. 
    • Drive compliance: Monitor adherence to German health and safety regulations and international standards, conducting regular audits and evaluating external service providers to verify compliance with occupational safety requirements. 
    • Investigate and learn: Lead incident investigations, analyzing root causes, and implementing strategies to prevent recurrence. 
    • Champion safety culture: Act as the central advocate for health and safety, providing training, guidance, and support to all stakeholders. 
    • Maintain transparency: Document and report on safety performance, ensuring clear communication with internal and external stakeholders. 

    We’re Looking for Someone With

    • Experienced professional: 5+ years of experience in a health and safety role, ideally within Data Centers, industrial environments, or similarly complex technical operations. 
    • Qualified and knowledgeable: expertise in ISO45001/ISO14001 standards and a comprehensive understanding of German health and safety laws (ASiG), "Fachkraft für Arbeitssicherheit (FASI)" certification is essential. 
    • Technical background: Solid grounding in technical systems, infrastructure, and operational requirements in highly regulated environments. 
    • Proactive collaborator: Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Facilities, and external contractors, embedding safety measures seamlessly into processes. 
    • Effective communicator: Skilled at conveying complex safety concepts in an accessible, persuasive manner, ensuring buy-in from all stakeholders.
    • Hands-on problem solver: A practical, results-driven approach to identifying risks, addressing challenges, and driving continuous safety improvements. 
    • Language skills: Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken. 
    • Travel readiness: Willing to travel to our sites mainly within Rhein-Main area and occasionally to Berlin and Amsterdam (for implementation of initiatives and audits).
