    Our Client

    A Global Leading Data Center Colocation provider. 

    Position Summary

    • Provide oversight and review of project plans, equipment and system submittals
    • Coordinate heavily with internal engineering team across all disciplines to ensure products delivered to Operations is streamline and optimized to meet the needs of the business ocross all functions
    • Conduct value engineering analyses, and provide system recommendations
    • Attend project design team meetings and ensure product constructed meets engineering standards and specifications
    • Work closely with Operations to find a balance between cost-effective solutions & operational sustainability
    • Project coordination and commissioning support
    • Develop and/or set minimum requirements for complete sequence of operations for all designed systems
    • Help set standards for mechanical commissioning efforts and ensure compliance on each project

    The Experienced Profile

    • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, from an accredited university or college
    •  Data Center  experience is required
    • Proficient in design tools such as AutoCAD, Excel, Word and Sigma6 modeling software
    • knowledge of critical cooling infrastructure
    • knowledge of building codes and ordinances
    • knowledge of air side and water side systems and components

      • Experience in Continuous Process Improvement and defining and managing associated metrics and KPIs. 
      • Experience in data centres or a similar mission critical environment is considered a significant advantage though not essential this will be a key consideration should multiple candidates be assessed for suitability. 
      • Experience of working in a European multi-cultural environment.
      • Highly proficient in spoken and written English (C1 or C2 level of CEFR).
      • Good German language skills (B2 level of CEFR).

      Datacenter People is partnering with the leading global design and consultancy organisation for today's built environment. Their team of data center experts is dedicated to the design and delivery of mission critical facilities.
       
      What the Job Involves…

      • Providing support to Project Teams throughout the project lifecycle.
      • Providing project level reports including detailed analysis of project cost and changes.
      • Maintaining and controlling budgets from design concept through to project completion.
      • Assisting with change management and control of total project costs (general contractors, direct suppliers, and professional appointments).
      • Analysing projects to ensure that project funding is adequate by performing estimates, cost forecasts, cost trends, and accrual of actual costs.
      • Developing cost estimates for civil, structural, architectural, plumbing, HVAC, and electrical disciplines.
      • Preparing material, labor, and equipment cost estimates for concept designs, design development documents, bid documents, and change orders.
      • Estimating and negotiating potential change orders.
      • Completing cost validation and quantity surveying on an as needed basis.
      • Monitoring and audit compliance.
      • Reconciling program and project controls data with the client’s fiscal and financial controls systems.
      • Presenting results of cost analyses to senior staff and clients.

      • Understanding of construction means and methodology.
      • Ability to read and understand design information.
      • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
      • Ability to engage with the client and key stakeholders at all levels.
      • Proficiency with Primavera P6.
      • Focus on health and safety.
      • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying) or equivalent work experience.
      • 5+ years of relevant experience.
      • Strong software skills.
