    The Client

    Datacenter People is working with an infrastructure platform operating over 100 edge data center facilities across Europe.

    What The Job Involves

    Reporting to the Director, Design & Strategy, the Structural and Civil Engineer will be responsible for the Company’s structural and civil design and engineering activities. Delivering the programme of new build and extension projects in relation to the company's technology assets, setting and performing to high standards of engineering best practice as well as providing structural engineering support to other parts of the business will be pivotal to the role.  

    • Partakes in multiple phases of site development 
    • Manages relevant design team disciplines, including related planning assessments, infrastructure design, site layouts, building interface coordination, BIM modelling
    • Reviews documentation supporting the structural-civil engineering and related disciplines
    • Manages the development of data center engineering standard processes and templates
    • Develop technical documents and scope of work packages for projects.
    • Supports in site identification process
    • Supports projects through local authority permitting
    • Develops and updates the design standards and specifications for consistency
    • Undertake design and checking of deliverables according to discipline and area of expertise.
    • Checking the quality of Contractor design work to ensure compliance with agreed client design specifications.
    • Provides engineering review services the Operations teams
    • Supports the implementation of data center engineering for new data center concepts under development
    • Attend and manage in-house or site-based meetings and reviews.
    • Acting as client interface for all key Civil / Structural enquiries regarding current or upcoming projects.
    • Providing technical input to tenders and proposals 
    • Collaborate with other disciplines as part of the project multi-disciplinary engineering team.

    We Are Looking For Someone With

    • Degree in a related engineering discipline
    • 5+ years experience in relevant engineering field preferably across the European region
    • Proven ability in site engineering, design development and delivery
    • Experience of delivering commercial engineering projects to a high standard, to budget and within timescale
    • Experience of modular and prefabricated engineering and execution
    • Experience in the review and implementation of contractors temporary works schemes
    • Good working knowledge of BIM and associated discipline related design tools (AUTOCAD etc)
    • Proven working knowledge and experience of EUROCODES 
    • Proven strong stakeholder management including: reporting, project management, risk identification and escalation

      • Experience in Continuous Process Improvement and defining and managing associated metrics and KPIs. 
      • Experience in data centres or a similar mission critical environment is considered a significant advantage though not essential this will be a key consideration should multiple candidates be assessed for suitability. 
      • Experience of working in a European multi-cultural environment.
      • Highly proficient in spoken and written English (C1 or C2 level of CEFR).
      • Good German language skills (B2 level of CEFR).

      What the Job Involves

      • In collaboration with the sales team, help with costing on the entire LDCS portfolio: server rack, containment and security, electrical distribution, cabling, etc.
      • Presentation of products in the LDCS Showroom or on the customer site (France).
      • Supporting clients in the execution phase.
      • Creation of mission orders.
      • Supervision of the intervention of installation service providers.
      • Drafting of the restitution report at the end of the project.
      • Follow-up of any reservations at the signing of the minutes.
      • Configuration of client equipment.
      • Customer training of products sold and installed.

      We’re Looking for Someone Who

      • Has an engineering background.
      • Have the ability to work autonomously, organised and monitored.
      • Ease with computer tools.
      • Very good interpersonal skills
