    Datacenter People is partnering with a global operator that provides data center campuses to hyperscalers, cloud service providers and large enterprises across North America, EMEA and Asia Pacific.

    What The Job Involves

    The Site Selection Manager France will be responsible for supporting the Director in managing specific site selection assignments for key strategic locations across Continental Europe with a particular emphasis on French-speaking markets.  Key elements of the role will include participating in discussions and contract negotiations with property owners, vendors, service providers, and third-party consultants. The Manager will partner with internal teams including Sales, New Site Development, Design & Engineering, Construction, Operations, as well as Legal and Finance groups.

    • Based on direction from the Director, evaluate long and short lists for sites in targeted areas.
    • Coordinate with New Development and Construction teams from concept through shovel ready state across Continental Europe markets, with a particular emphasis on French-speaking markets.
    • Coordinate with local real estate brokers and consultants who will assist us in locating properties.
    • Prepare regular communications and dashboards for the Site Selection team on the status of all  site selection activities within the geographical areas of responsibility.
    • Stay abreast of new technologies and opportunities that vary from North American/European applications to innovate Middle Eastern/Africa build models
    • Oversee Consultant/Vendor/Contractor registration and pre-qualification
    • As directed, coordinate with local authorities, utilities, and government officials 
    • Serve as the point of initial contact in receiving new site information from brokers and landowners
    • Effectively and constructively manage and coordinate the services of professional consultants such as planners, land use attorneys, energy development consultants, environmental, emissions, and others.

    We Are Looking For Someone With

    • In depth knowledge and experience in commercial real estate/property transactions across Continental Europe with specific knowledge of entitlement, acquisitions and development processes within France and other French-speaking regions.
    • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, city planning, commercial real estate, surveying or business.
    • +7 years experience in selection and data center or other capital project/infrastructure development required.
    • Advanced Excel knowledge essential.
    • Knowledge of Tableau, Power BI and ArcGIS tools preferred.
    • Ability to speak fluent French required.
    • Excellent analytical skills with understanding of real estate finance and discounted cash flow analysis.
    • Ability to balance strategic thinking with tactical needs.
    • Ability to analyze complex business concepts and documents.
    • Ability to effectively respond to sensitive issues, complex inquiries or complaints.
    • Skilled at solving problems and dealing with a variety of options with limited information.
    • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization and with other stakeholders and third parties such as suppliers.
    • Ability to work under pressure, deal with conflicting priorities and manage large volume of acquisitions.
    • Flexible, adaptable and self-directed; able to work in a variety of circumstances; e.g.: remotely, while travelling, across multiple time zones, cross functionally, by project, etc.
    • Ability to demonstrate understanding of the commercial metrics which drive a successful development.

      What the Job Involves

      • Represent company actively and cultivate high level relationships key engineering firms, contractors, and GCs to gain insight on critical opportunities. 
      • Provide large project sales leadership to maximise win rate including the following functions as required: specification CDE review/completion, competitive situation analysis, winning price point analysis, and developing/implementing overall sales strategy.
      • Provide technical support for key client engagements including the following activities: assistance with development of concept power architectures, technical guidance for selection of best fit product ratings, battery selection and sizing, creation of concept single lines and virtual or in-person design reviews. 
      • Provide Busbar and Switchgear LoB business account management in partnership with dedicated account managers for select key accounts.
      • Create general industry awareness through attendance and presenting at industry events 
      • Educate selling entities on application focused system architectures. 
      • Work with Sales Managers to provide sales insight and ensure proposals are align with our customer’s needs.
