    The Client

    What the Job Involves…

    • Perform maintenance/engineering tasks as required.
    • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and safety procedure and ensure compliance by vendors, customers, and other parties.
    • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and ensure that contractors are suited appropriately for the work being performed.
    • Recommend/implement improvements for the preventive maintenance program on an on-going basis.
    • Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors, vendors, customers, and other parties.
    • Oversee all building systems.
    • Assist the Assistant Chief with Incident Reporting, Change Management Documents, Switching Procedures, Method of Operations.
    • Maintain positive communication with customers, owners, property management, contractors, and vendors.
    • Assist in the development of operating and capital budgets.
    • Coordinate development of and/or maintain as-built drawings and other building documentation.
    • Respond to emergency situations.
    • Track inventory of critical spare parts to ensure adequate stock is always maintained.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable codes (OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ASHRAE and others as applicable), government agencies and company directives as related to building equipment upgrades, retrofits, buildouts, maintenance, and operations.
    • Purchase parts and supplies as necessary per the purchase approval process.
    • Assist Technical Operations Manager with load management and capacity planning for all data centers areas.
    • Ability to read and analyze Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing drawings.

    We’re Looking for Someone Who…

    • Has an associate's degree (AA/AS) or an equivalent combination of education and experience; data center experience is strongly preferred.
    • Has a trade license or certification acquired through technical education/training.
    • Has a facilities maintenance certification.
    • Has experience working with mission-critical data equipment, and the willingness to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
    • Has strong HVAC, mechanical, and electrical skills and experience.
    • Holds an understanding of computer systems, and is skilled with Microsoft Office products.
    • Has strong verbal and written communication skills.

      • Ability to travel up to 75%. Majority of travel is within UK & Ireland.

      What the Job Involves…

      • To operate the Critical Processes to ensure the mitigation of risk to the operation of critical plant and equipment. 
      • To follow EOPs and escalate accordingly when an incident occur. 
      • To follow and create MOPs and SOPs. 
      • Ensure that routine PPM is carried out to all mechanical and electrical plant in accordance with Site task schedules and asset lists. 
      • Write the statements of work (SOW) to define the scope of service contracts with the vendors/suppliers. 
      • Ensure that reactive tasks throughout the building are completed and be proactive in highlighting areas where improvements can be made. These reactive calls to also include concessionary stores and fabric related items. 
      • Ensure that plant faults and defects are swiftly remedied to maintain plant in serviceable order at all times. 
      • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out both maintenance and reactive works.  To provide parts lists and estimated timescales to carry out remedial works. 
      • Ensure that all relevant paperwork is completed regarding PPM, reactive and breakdown works and that it is passed without delay to the contract administrator. 
      • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks undertaken to ensure safe working practices at all times. 
      • Carry out AP duties (training provided) and the issuing of permits to work 
      • Ensure the provision of a Safe and Healthy working environment.  To include the wearing of uniform and PPE at all times.    
      • To develop a good working relationship with all members of staff and clients. 
      • Ensure professional image is presented to clients at all times.
      • Ensure that all security concept and principles are executed at all times. 
      • Supervising and monitoring of sub-contractors works whilst they are on site undertaking maintenance. 
      • To arrange and provide holiday and sickness cover at short notice and be flexible in their working patterns. 
      • Be able to fullfill Standby duty services on a monthly basis in collaboration with the other site DSE’s.

      We’re Looking for Someone Who…

      • Experience in main distribution board switching of ACB’s.
      • Experience in changing modes of UPS i.e. start-up / Maintenance bypass / Eco-Ess Mode / VMMS Energy management mode.
      • Knowledge of Critical cooling systems and SLA’s / KPI’s within a critical environment.
      • Knowledge of basic Air Conditioning and humidity control.
      • Experience in the operation and control of generators and UPS.
      • Has been responsible for the operation of a datacenter.
      • Experience in use and interrogation of BMS systems in monitoring plant 
      • Practical knowledge of H&S requirements including RA’s, Lock out Tag out, permits to work. 
      • Experienced in vendor management. 
      • Self-motivated and professional manner.
      • Good communication skills (German and English Language).
      • Basic knowledge of MS office applications.
      • Experience with an asset management tool.
