Recently one of our Delivery Manager’s was on a call with a candidate, questioning the candidate about her background and experience, when she asked the question “Why is this important?”. Our Delivery Manager replied “It’s important because you’re important”. It was a great reply. But it was also a very true reply. And it set me thinking that it would be a good idea to write about the candidate experience we endeavour to deliver at Datacenter People.
Much of what we do is on an exclusive basis and there is a good reason for that, it’s how we do our best work – find great talent and ensure good career moves take place. When multiple recruiters work on a requirement then it just becomes a race to get the CV to the client first and that means corners get cut and poor hiring decision are made. When we work on an exclusive basis a key part of the process is the interview meeting calls where we find out about the candidate’s background and experience, as well as the achievement and success they have enjoyed, the environments in which they did their best work, why job moves have taken place, and so on. A lot of ground is covered, a lot of questions are asked, hence the aforementioned candidate asking “Why is this important”.
