    Job Description

    The Position

    We are looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial senior executive to drive adoption into new accounts. This requires the ability to cultivate champions and executive sponsors, navigate seamlessly across functions, and develop long-term relationships. 

     

    The role will include responsibility for managing direct relationships across a broad geography to maximize the potential of the solution for the customer and client.

     

    Key Responsibilities / Duties

    • Prospect, identify and work with decision-makers and influencers within target accounts
    • Build strong, long-lasting relationships at multiple levels within each account
    • Educate customers on the value and benefits of the solution; address technical concerns and questions
    • Understand organizational and budget dynamics within each account
    • Effectively work across all relevant customer functions to close sales
    • Maintain CRM data and accurately forecast sales
    • Interface effectively with internal engineering and service support teams
    • Identify and promote the client.
    • Identify opportunities to deepen integration within the overall account – recurring relevance.


     

    Experience

    • A successful track record of selling into major global accounts
    • Strong prospecting, networking and presentation skills
    • Experience selling to large enterprise customers at all levels
    • A background in successfully selling to the critical facilities organizations (in particular selling HVAC controls, energy efficiency or critical facilities infrastructure)
    • Existing strong relationships with carrier, enterprise data center and colocation executives
    • Experience working within a start-up environment selling new technologies and products
    • Bachelors degree or equivalent required – engineering degree a plus
    • Relentless attitude, curious, desire to win, self-starter
    • 12+ years experience in major account sales – with at least 50% selling into carrier accounts

      • Previous successful experience in sales and business development role in a field close to ours.
      • Be identified in the data center environment
      • Be comfortable in proposing and closing deals.
      • Technical background to ensure a regular dialogue with customers and prospects (understand customers infrastructure and technical needs).

      What the Job Involves

      • Technical Expertise: Possess a deep understanding of data center technologies, including server hardware, networking, virtualisation, storage, cooling, power distribution, and security, in order to consult with clients and recommend optimal solutions.
      • Solution Design: Collaborate with clients to gather technical requirements and design customised data center solutions that align with their business objectives, scalability needs, and budget constraints. Sales Support: Work closely with the sales team to participate in pre-sales activities, including product demonstrations, technical presentations, and solution proposal development, showcasing the technical features and benefits of our data center offerings.
      • Client Engagement: Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within client organisations. Act as a trusted advisor, providing insights into industry best practices, trends, and innovations related to data center technologies.

      We’re Looking for Someone With

      • Proven track record of success in a technical sales role, preferably within the data center industry. Strong understanding of data center technologies, including server hardware, networking, storage, virtualisation, and associated software.
      • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Exceptional presentation skills and the ability to confidently engage with clients in various settings. Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. Solution-oriented mindset with a customer-centric approach to sales and problem-solving. Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools is a plus.
      • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
      • Thrives in a fast-paced and continuously developing environment.
      • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills, communication and collaboration in a team environment. Self-starter with superior analytical skills; a problem solver with an astute attention to detail. Possesses good judgment, honesty, and utmost integrity.

      Datacenter People is working with a global data center services provider delivering project management, engineering design and critical facility management to hyper-scale, colocation, and edge leaders.
       
      What the Job Involves

      • Inside sales management:
      • Answering queries and create quotations for direct and indirect customers, channel partners, and assisting in selecting suitable products.
      • Management of internal sales team and data management.
      • Be the liaison between the LDCS product lines and Key Account Manager for commercial/resource queries.
      • Answering sales, product and technical questions.
      • Being in close daily contact with customer service and logistics on order status and expected delivery dates.
      • Checking for validity of product prices/discounts on incoming orders.
      • Continuously improving service level and customer satisfaction.
      • Support data/compliance/certification document collection for expanding and servicing new and existing customers/channel partners.
      • Other tasks that may arise in supporting the LDCS CH team to be jointly efficient and successful.
      • Industrial management:
      • Ensuring the coordination with engineering, production and installation teams on site.
      • Supervision of the ordering of material in line with our project pipeline and minimum quantities required.
      • Taking care of the industrial day-to-day requirements: maintenance, training, general continuity.
