    Datacenter People is partnering with a diversified power management company and global technology leader in power, cooling and software infrastructure for multiple industrial sectors including mission critical and data center.

    What The Job Involves

    As a Senior Design & Project Engineer As part of the data centre leadership team. The main function is to help establish, protect, and grow the company's Data Centre, product &services business in EMEA.
    Provide data centre clients, consultants, contractors, and the company's sales & application engineers a deep level of engineering support and direction relating to the design, build and operation of large data centres. Principally this relates to the electrical infrastructure but extends into the overall operational technology found in the data centre environment.
    Electromechanical systems such a cooling, building management systems, energy management systems. It also requires a full appreciation of various building construction technologies and challenges. This covers traditional brick & mortar to modularized systems. It also requires experience in the project management and supervision of build projects and the delivery of the various product technologies & services required in the data centre environment.

    • Provide senior Engineering Leadership & Direction to the data centre extended team. This includes Sales, Marketing, Services, and the associated business units(manufacturing).
    • Build insights and relationships with client organisation(s) with a view to identifying their operational challenges and needs.
    • Oversee the Translation of client requirement (specifications) and needs into product and service remedies
    • Oversee & support company teams to generate high, value added, engineering and commercial proposals to clients.
    • As subject matter expert to support the Sales Key Account team to secure orders which create a profitable, sustainable growth business.
    • To under manage & communicate effectively the business conducted between both organisations.
    • Give regular update/guidance on data centre industry, technology & engineering trends in the marketplace and specific to key accounts.
    • Highest data centre Subject Matter expert in the company and equally expert in the company's Products, Services, General business, structure, strategy, and operations. So that it can be articulated this in terms of value to client’s business.
    • Gain leadership & executive team awareness and support & resources for data centre team & business.
    • Contribute & Support marketing campaigns & activities that can promote the company to Client relations and business.
    • Be the company's principal technical / engineering spokesperson in terms of PR, Media & Marketing activities.
    • Be final escalation point for all data centre related engineering matters.
    • Set the data centre standard for industry engagement and drive excellence in term of engineering proposals, project execution, support, and services at both pre and post sales stages.
    • Ensure the company's operations are aligned to Data Centre Industry norms and are fit for purpose.
    • Maintain a fully up to date brief on data centre electrical designs and standards and be effective at communicating this internally & externally.
    • Oversee the activity and skill set development of the company's solution architects in the data centre team.
    • Ensure all KAM are correctly skilled and knowledgeable to the right level in terms of data centre engineering.
    • Provide oversight and leadership to other cross divisional teams involved with data centres - Design & Bid, Project Management, Services, Site Managers

    We Are Looking For Someone With

    • BSc/ MSc in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
    • 5 to 10 years in a senior technical role in the Data Centre Industry.
    • Electrical or IT technical qualification/certification. Shall have worked directly on data centre critical power infrastructure projects. Shall have significant engineering training / certification

      What the Job Involves

      • Create cost estimates, studies, analyses and evaluations at all levels of project development, with heavy focus on conceptual planning and pre-construction phases, this role will partner with the wider strategic, pre-construction and delivery and commissioning teams.
      • Provide various cost analysis, data gathering, and data analytics specific to the cost of work for construction.
      • Provide cost estimates for OpEx requirements and associated Lifecycle CapEx costs (replacement costs during lifetime, etc.). 
      • Analyse drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare/review/comment on time, cost, and labour estimates for projects.
      • Review quantity take-off as a separate validation of contractor pricing.
      • Review contractor and subcontractor GMPs and change order estimates.
      • Provide costing information for customer requested changes on a timely basis (in tandem with GC during execution).

      We’re Looking for Someone With

      We’re Looking for Someone Who

      • 10+ years’ experience working construction project management, preferably in data centers.
      • Strong background in Project Management methodologies.
      • Experience in managing a construction project. 
      • Experience with the design and deployment of technical electrical and mechanical systems (electrical or mechanical background. 
      • Experience in Continuous Process Improvement and defining and managing associated metrics and KPIs. 
      • Experience in data centres or a similar mission critical environment is considered a significant advantage though not essential this will be a key consideration should multiple candidates be assessed for suitability. 
      • Experience of working in a European multi-cultural environment.
      • Highly proficient in spoken and written English (C1 or C2 level of CEFR).
      • Good German language skills (B2 level of CEFR).
