    The Client

    Datacenter People are working with a data center company who powers, cools, protects and connects the technology of the world’s well-known hyper-scalers, cloud providers and large enterprises. Developing and operating across six markets in North America and five markets in Europe.

    What the Job Involves…

    • Participate in all aspects of mechanical design and engineering including conceptual design, basis of design, scope of work, development of construction documents. 
    • Drive project level tasks and milestones assigned by the project management team 
    • Create and/or review project plans and specifications.
    • Subject matter expert responsible for technical reviews including submittals, RFIs and engineering studies/analysis. 
    • Visit job sites for field investigations and coordination meetings.
    • Creation and/or review of the following: Project specifications, schematic drawings, design and construction documents, submittals, sequence of operations, test and balance reports, commissioning scripts. 
    • Attend project design team meetings and interface with various team members.
    • Review, comment and process project plans and actively participate at various gating approvals.
    • Participation in on-site job walks and meetings. 
    • Review complete sequence of operations for all designed mechanical systems
    • Project coordination and commissioning support. 
    • Review documentation for the mechanical part of the commissioning efforts of each project.
    • Work with Site Operations to find balance between cost-effective solutions & operational sustainability. 
    • Support Site Operations to troubleshoot/tune existing systems.
    • Additional duties as assigned from time to time by management.

    We’re Looking for Someone Who…

    • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
    • 6 years of experience in Mechanical engineering design and construction required, 8-12 years preferred. 
    • Data center experience is strongly preferred. 
    • Proficient in AutoCAD, Excel, Word and Sigma6 modelling software. 
    • Working knowledge of critical cooling infrastructure within a data center.  
    • Working knowledge of all building codes and ordinances, including ASHRAE. 
    • Travel required is expected to be 5 to 10%, but may increase over time as the business evolves.

      What the Job Involves

      • Create cost estimates, studies, analyses and evaluations at all levels of project development, with heavy focus on conceptual planning and pre-construction phases, this role will partner with the wider strategic, pre-construction and delivery and commissioning teams.
      • Provide various cost analysis, data gathering, and data analytics specific to the cost of work for construction.
      • Provide cost estimates for OpEx requirements and associated Lifecycle CapEx costs (replacement costs during lifetime, etc.). 
      • Analyse drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare/review/comment on time, cost, and labour estimates for projects.
      • Review quantity take-off as a separate validation of contractor pricing.
      • Review contractor and subcontractor GMPs and change order estimates.
      • Provide costing information for customer requested changes on a timely basis (in tandem with GC during execution).
      • Provide the link between the delivery team and the wider GLP finance functions.
      • Review and implement lessons learned to ensure estimating data is accurate and competitive.
      • Review, evaluate and negotiate non-OFCI material quotes as needed.
      • Understand and handle competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
      • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors/partners.
      • Provide feedback to management team on partners’ commercial performance – cost consultants, GC, MEP, etc. 

      We’re Looking for Someone With

      • Proven record of leadership, strong verbal and written communications abilities, good interpersonal and organisational skills, computer proficiency, capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, impeccable integrity and can-do attitude are all essential to success.
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office software & Microsoft Project version 2003 or higher 
      • A proven record of accomplishments entering new regions and, with the wider team, putting together construction projects from beginning to end ensuring the timelines are met. 
      • A thorough understanding of contracting strategies including but not limited to lump sum, cost plus, fee-based, T&M.
      • A thorough understanding of material take-off & cost estimating experience, and a working understanding of labour rates, general conditions, overhead, & profit.
      • Knowledge of AutoCad is a plus.
      • Knowledge of network & operating systems support a plus.
      • Strong customer service skills.
      • Ability to develop and document procedures.
      • Must be able to work with people at all levels internally and within the customer & vendor environments. 
      • Must be able to work in a team environment. 
      • Degree qualification in quantity surveying. 
      • 3 – 5 years' of experience working in mission critical data centre constructions, UPS system installations, generator installations and have overall critical facility knowledge.
      • Experience of project management.

      What the Job Involves

      • Inside sales management:
      • Answering queries and create quotations for direct and indirect customers, channel partners, and assisting in selecting suitable products.
      • Management of internal sales team and data management.
      • Be the liaison between the LDCS product lines and Key Account Manager for commercial/resource queries.
      • Answering sales, product and technical questions.
      • Being in close daily contact with customer service and logistics on order status and expected delivery dates.
      • Checking for validity of product prices/discounts on incoming orders.
      • Continuously improving service level and customer satisfaction.
      • Support data/compliance/certification document collection for expanding and servicing new and existing customers/channel partners.
      • Other tasks that may arise in supporting the LDCS CH team to be jointly efficient and successful.
      • Industrial management:
      • Ensuring the coordination with engineering, production and installation teams on site.
